IPv4 and IPv6 can coexist
Many networks are dual stack: a device may have IPv6 connectivity while also using IPv4. Seeing one protocol does not prove that the other is absent or that every application path uses the same protocol.
IPv6 basics
Address family, firewall policy, application routing, node status, and earnings are separate parts of the experience.
Many networks are dual stack: a device may have IPv6 connectivity while also using IPv4. Seeing one protocol does not prove that the other is absent or that every application path uses the same protocol.
An IPv6 address may be reachable from outside your local network. Keep device and router firewalls enabled, and only expose services required by your installation instructions.
IPv6 availability is a network capability. It does not by itself mean a node will receive more traffic or earn more.
IPv6 checklist
Check whether your connection uses IPv4, IPv6, or both, then view your node status. Having an IPv6 address does not mean you need to open inbound access.
Confirm the device has normal internet access before treating IPv6 as the cause of a node issue.
Use operating-system or router network information to distinguish IPv4, IPv6 and dual-stack state; do not rely on one third-party IP page to describe the entire network path.
If connectivity changed after switching networks, rebooting a router, or changing a VPN, verify the AntGain process and your signed-in node status before editing firewall rules.
Keep host and router security controls enabled unless current AntGain documentation explicitly requires a narrowly scoped change for the supported deployment model.
Use the official AntGain download page to verify current platform support rather than assuming IPv6 availability implies software compatibility.
